If you’re from the South, love the outdoors or horses, or plain just love cowboy boots, PLEASE do NOT be afraid to wear cowboy boots under your wedding dress.
I big puffy heart this idea (really because I love the South, cowboys and cowboy boots).

Better yet, you could have your bridesmaids do it instead!

In keeping with the dress talk from earlier today, I’m gonig to show you some fab gowns, which happen to be eco-friendly (bonus!). And, in the next few weeks, I will be sharing some great gowns from other designers that happen to be eco-friendly, too. It’s just a ltitle way I want to encourage you all to live a more earth conscious life, and know that being green can be stylish!
Our first designer spotlight is Justin Alexander and the new Pure collection. Each of these gowns is made from organic fabrics featuring natural accents. You can completely feel great about wearing these dresses, and feel great in them! All of the gowns featured in today’s post are part of the Spring 2010 collection.
This is a great dress for that “short dress” bride, or even as a getaway dress.

This next one is a great classic, yet simple gown. Has a beautiful sweetheart neckline, with some simple beading detail just below the bust.

The last featured dress is a great option for a beach or summer wedding. It has great beading detail around the neck, so much so in fact, that the bride would not have to wear a necklace at all. It is very similar to the first dress above.

Have you thought about purchasing an eco-friendly gown? Or, even just incorporating little green/eco-friendly ideas?
Stay tuned next week for the next featured eco-friendly bridal gown designer.
If I were a short dress bride, this would sooo be my dress. Hands down.

I love the shape, the length, and just how much fun it is! And, her shoes are to die for (I am a bit biased, since I own the same pair in red, but with a rounded toe).
Would you ever consider wearing a short dress? What about as your “get away dress?”
And because I love bikes in wedding photos, enjoy! (I wish I had a bike to use).

Right now I am at Town & Country Bridal, getting fitted and sized for my wedding dress. I have my Mom in tow, a fantastic and wonderful friend, and P, my grandpa’s wife.
So who is excited? This girl. Especially since it has been early three months since I last tried on the dress.
And, if you are expecting pictures…you won’t find them here. You’ll have to wait until wedding recap photos.
I interrupt the regularly scheduled post for this slot, to tell you all how badly I need this.

I first saw it here:

And it was after reading that post on Style Me Pretty that I decided I needed one. After all, it will be Fall. I have already asked the seller if they can make it without the flowers. But at any rate, I love this bolero. It’s unexpected, which I love.
Le swoon. Man, I love Etsy.
Not every bride has thought about this, but the idea of buying a special hanger for your dress is a fun little concept. Especially since the hanger can be a great keepsake for after the wedding. The internet is filled with some great options, and here are just a few!
This hanger is a great option, as you can customize it in a multitude of ways. Plus, it could make some fun wall decor after the wedding is over.

This next option is the traditional hanger than several brides have considered. The padded hanger.

AngeliaElizabeth
This last option is a great personalized hanger, that you can have embroidered with your married monogram and customized with colors and details.

Project Wedding
So do yourself a favor. If you want some awesomely beautiful dress shots by your photographer, be sure to get a pretty little hanger to hang it on. I’m sure you don’t want to see an Old Navy hanger in those shots!
It’s a trend breaking on to the scene, and definitely a good one. There will always be a large percentage of brides-to-be that will prefer a gown in the white palette (white, off-white, cream, ivory), but there are a growing number of brides wanting something more fun or reflective of their true personality. Long gone is the idea that a bride MUST wear white on her wedding day. Some brides add a touch of color with a colored sash or trim, but the new trend is a completely colored gown.
And, I love, love the idea of a colored gown (I’m a champagne or grey fan, myself). But, the colors don’t just stop there. Recently, I stumbled upon this post where the bride wore a light blue gown (which would be perfect for a winter wedding).

Rose, dusty rose and pale purple are colors that have been showing up more prominently in high-end designers’ collections, like this one in Vera Wang’s.

And, how can I forget this J.Crew lovely, featured earlier in the week on the blog? I love the grey, which would be a dress perfect for any season.

J.Crew
Swoon. Definitely would have considered that J.Crew dress if grey were one of our colors!
Have you seen some of the new J.Crew bridal gowns? (I’ll be floored if you haven’t).
From the beginning of my wedding planning, I have been eyeing several of the gowns (the one I really love, they don’t sell anymore). Not only are these dresses beautiful, chic and modern, but they are pretty reasonable in price. Some of their newer designs are more expensive, but they range in price from $295 (yes, that’s right) to $2,995. Talk about a dress for all budgets. I know some girls dream of their big ball gown (which, is not my style), but these dresses are absolutely, perfectly perfect (maybe not for everyone). I definitely recommend taking a look at their collection if you’re still looking for a dress.
And, because most of my posts are not complete without pictures, enjoy some of my favorite J.Crew wedding dresses!

Maybe it’s just the modernity or untraditional in me, but if our wedding budget were uber grande, this dress would be worn by yours truly. Not to mention the red belt. I think this dress was meant for me.
Le swoon……BIG time. Oh Oscar, how you break my heart.

Martha Stewart Weddings
A friend of mine at work sent me a link today to a great bridal event happening in Saint Louis. Being from a midwestern town, I can understand that wedding-related events are far and few between, so I was excited to know that the heartland of the country is starting to becoming a booming spot for the wedding industry.
