plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country

Valentine’s Day might not be for another month, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of a saturated palette full of reds, fuchsias and blush pinks. With these colors you can go modern by using white as a base, or stick to a more classic look by using golds and roses.

This is the perfect holiday wedding palette if you ask me. Just the right balance of reds and greens, with hints of whites and golds. Makes me excited that Christmas is just five days away (yes, five!)!

Today’s inspiration board is a bit personal.  It is the one I created when planning my own wedding more than two years ago.  When I started the entire planning process, I knew I wanted bold punches of color.  And, considering the fact that my husband and I love red, it was a given that our palette had to be surrounded by it.

The beauty of this palette is that (for the most part) it is pretty versatile.  You can adjust the level of each color’s use throughout your decor to make it fit.  Chocolate was the more subdued color for us – used as an accent here and there.  Red was the star, with hints of orange to balance it out.  And, the white was used to make everything pop – a true foundation color.

One of my favorite colors, by far.

The Perfect Palette features fun and inspiring color palettes to help you plan your wedding (or any event for that matter).  I’ve plugged the site before in the past, so I cannot help but feature them again when I find great color combos (or just ones that I personally love).

Enter, Candy Apple Red and Snow White:

I love this combo for many reasons, but one of them is that they are GREAT winter colors without being too cliche.  The mix of red and white adds good contrast.  Now, you can overdo it with this combo, so be sure to be tasteful with your choice of elements.  Use mostly white with just hints of reds here and there.  It’s a chic way to add touches of fun and class.

It’s color day at the Landlocked Bride. Stay tuned for another great combo this afternoon!

I definitely love a red, white and blue wedding.  Nothing to do with patriotism, red and blue are just two of my favorite colors, and I absolutely love them together.  I especially love when a bride (or groom) does it right, like this Australian one.

It is fantastic when the details are so well thought out. The bride placed photos of her grandparents in little blue frames and strung them from her bouquet on blue ribbon.

The navy and the red just make me swoon. They are such classic colors! And the guys’ blue suits with the striped shirts? Ahh! So great!

And, I can think of one lovely American bride who also did red, white in blue in such a fantastic way.
