Seriously in love with this engagement shoot by Claris Photography.
The bride and groom really wanted some specific shots and had some great ideas for their shoot, and the photographer worked with them to make their ideas come to life. The photos are quirky, fun, beautiful, and, well, hot.

If this shoot is not an incentive to be funky and creative with your engagement photos, I don’t know what else could be.
I’ve already talked about how much I love the photographer we picked (I’ve raved here). But I’m here to tell you she’s back. Not that she has disappeared, because she hasn’t. She just has not blogged lately because she’s been super busy with wedding season (I don’t blame her!!). I’m amazed at how any photographer finds the time to blog during wedding season! At any rate, I was a like a kid in a candy store when she posted last week and this week (so pardon my excitement).
She blogged about her recent trip to the Jessica Claire OC Photography Workshop (I’m super jealous, btw) last week, and yesterday, she blogged about a recent wedding, with some beautiful colors. So, I wanted to share the beauty!
First up? The JC workshop, of course.

I am totally swooning over the details and the light and just everything. GORGEOUS. And, did I mention I was jealous?
Up next? Her recent post about a wedding.

I’m totally loving the colors in that bouquet.

And, who doesn’t love a sparkler exit?!

I’m sure that Lisa thinks I’m a total creeper…but that’s okay, because I appreciate her talent! A ton!!
It is definitely images like this one that make me very excited that I am getting married in the Fall (and having my e-pics done in the Fall).

The colors and the light are just gorgeous.
So in love with these engagement pictures. They just tell a different story that some of the more traditional photos.
I love the laughing photo like whoa. Such a fantastic representation of the dynamic of this couple’s relationship. Beautiful!

I love when a photographer is able to capture moments like these.
When scouring the web for engagement shoot ideas, I found almost all of my favorites in an urban setting.
BUT, today I found another great idea for an engagement session spot. Your home.

Bobbi and Mike
I love the idea of shooting in your house, your home. It shows an intimate side of your relationship, the true value of it. Of course, this would really only be applicable if you two live together. Nonetheless, it’s a great spot and it’s an alternative to your traditional shoot spots!
Are booked! October 28. So very excited about it, too!
I’ve been pulling some inspiration photos, and scouring the St. Louis area for a party supply company that sells perfectly round red latex balloons. I’ll let you know how that goes…
So, yeah. Inspiration. Don’t want to give away the pictures I’ve been pulling, but we will be taking photos in two different locations in town. At our last one, I’m hoping we can get a few shots like these. Fingers crossed for wheat/wildflower and corn fields!

And, Lisa, we are both totally game for laying in the grass (or wheat/wildflower field!) or sitting in the middle of the road…If you’re feeling it.
Um, how can you not love this moment that Bobbi and Mike caught of the bride (image on the left)? You can so tell her heart is just a-fluttering! So magical!

And, as a tribute to my FI, because he LOVES tomatoes (so much so, in fact, that they are practically their own food group). Let’s just say he puts ketchup on his ketchup.

That image is like the ring image from heaven for him.
Again, me with the blog features. Am I going overboard?
Anyway, I love this hairpiece the bride wore. It’s fun and eclectic, and would be awesome if it came in different red fabrics and a bit smaller (I’m thinking for myself here). Might be a bit casual for our wedding, but I just love the handmade look to it and the fact that it is a bit funky!

Plus, I think her hair looks great (I’ve included a photo in case you are too lazy to search for it, yeah, I’m nice like that).

And, because I love beautiful photos, one more just for the hell of it.

Not too long ago, the City of Saint Louis opened the Citygarden. It’s this great little “urban oasis” right in the heart of downtown. Although I have yet to visit this lovely little spot in downtown, I am already in love with the idea of it.

For those of you not familiar with Saint Louis, it’s a great town, but there has not been much to do downtown other than catch a St. Louis Cardinals‘ game (which I highly recommend), go to a St. Louis Rams‘ game or take a brewery tour at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery (which I also recommend, but maybe that’s because I used to be a tour guide there…I digress). When the Citygarden opened (which is free, by the way), it gave Saint Louisans a great new spot to get away to on a beautiful day, which we have been having a lot of lately. Plus you can bring your pets!
Not only is this place a fun spot to visit on a weekend (or for lunch on a weekday), but it is a great new spot for couples to get a few of their engagement or wedding photos. You still get the feel of a park, but you get that urban feel that is really popular in photography right now.

Now I’m really excited to get my photos taken in a few weeks by a great friend for a new little project I’m working on (more on this later).
