Of course I had to keep with Saturday’s theme of paper lanterns.
Would you want the dance floor of your wedding to have this awesomeness hanging above it? Well, I think it would be pretty cool, anyway. The couple chose great colors, which are perfect for lanterns and creating mood lighting. Kudos to them!

Most of you know that the Pilot and I are trying to incorporate paper lanterns into our reception design somehow. We have hit a bit of a snag due to some venue rules (nothing major), but we’re afraid the approved method of hanging the lanterns won’t hold the concept we came up with. And, oddly enough, we’re doing a walk-through with our venue today about it.
That’s besides the point.
I found this outtake photo from Jeff Holt’s blog from his Southern Weddings Magazine shoot, and just feel in love with the light. Now, this isn’t obviuosly everyone’s cup of tea, but I just love how abstract the hanging lanterns are, yet how the bike and outdoor backdrop just gives the whole image a Southern feel. It’s quirky and fun, and well shabby chic.
