While, I don’t whole-heartedly agree with that statement (I have a strong affinity for the mountains of Colorado and the San Francisco Bay), I must agree that these are great totes.

Megan Lee Designs
I originally found these on Etsy a while back and forgot about them, but then they popped up on a recent post on Clover & Bee and knew I had to feature them. They would make great out of town bags for your guests (which Rebecca mentions). Plus, it’s a great way to tie in the Midwest into your wedding (of course, if you are a Midwestern bride). I completely love the idea of bringing in some hometown favorites into the out of town bags, and this would be a great tie-in.
In an effort to put together out OOT (out of town) guest bags, the FI and I are looking to include goodies in the bags with a nod to St. Louis.
And, one of those favorites? Gooey Butter Cake. For you non-Saint Louisans, you’re probably wondering “What in the hell is gooey butter cake?” And my answer is heaven.

Park Avenue Coffee
First off, Park Avenue Coffee not only has the traditional gooey butter cake, but 64 different flavors in total. And, secondly, I’m on a mission to try every single one, just so I can pick the perfect flavor for the OOT bags (I’m sure I will go with the traditional version). But, lets be honest, I really just want a reason to eat every flavor of gooey butter cake.
The FI and I think including a nice square of gooey butter cake in the bags, is a great nod to a St. Louis tradition. Stay tuned for more of our St. Louis OOT bag elements.
Now if we can only get Ted Drewe’s to go in there without melting…
