This isn’t the regular “real wedding” you’d expect to see here on LLB. Why, you ask? Simple. Today is my anniversary. Two years ago today, I married a wonderful man. A man who forces me to be the best me, helps me see the side of things I sometimes refuse to pay attention to, and makes me laugh when I need it most.
Today’s is a trip to memory lane — a few of my favorite photos from our wedding day and my forever favorite video from Kevin.
A post in which I ramble on about the things I am thankful for.
But, really, I am thankful every. single. day. Not just on Thanksgiving. This year, in particular, I could not feel more blessed.
Life has been good to my husband and me. We were blessed to both finish our MBA programs within a month of each other. B accepted a new job, which had us relocate to our favorite state (Colorado) not even a month ago. We celebrated one blissful year of marriage. I relaunched my planning business.
I am thankful for our health. Our love. Our dogs. Family. Friends. The weather. Purely thankful for our life.
A huge thanks to all of our family and friends for being incredibly supportive during this last year. B and I took a huge leap by picking up and moving to a new city in a new state, and our family and friends have been 100% behind it since the first time we brought it up. We are thankful for their phone calls and emails. Their Facebook updates and photos. Their visits. Their love. Their support.
And, to you all of my readers. Thank you for being fabulous readers. For visiting each day and showing your support. Thank you for being you, and staying true to you! I wish you all a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday. One filled with love, support and giving.
Continues to amaze me how much creativity comes out of the Midwest when it comes to weddings. I am beyond thrilled that local brides are finally realizing it is okay to make it personal, and most importantly have fun.
Local blogger, Lauren of Clever Betty, and her fiance put together this fabulous save the date video in stop motion, and I cannot. stop. watching. it. I wish I could be a guest at this girl’s wedding. But ‘alas, that’s not possible. BUT, the fabulous Lisa Hessel will be photographing their big day this Fall, and I cannot wait to see what she captures.
A departure from the traditional escort card, bride Lauren created little “chair” escort cards to direct her guests to their tables. Names were handwritten on the seat backs, with the table assignments on the “seat.”
A winter wedding does not have to equal soft, iridescent colors. Get bold with a strong use of color. Especially in your flower arrangements. And, go with soft hues when necessary (like when your linens are a bold red).
I’m excited to share this week’s Engagement Photo Friday with you all. I don’t normally preface these posts with anything, but considering Lauren has a cute little Etsy shop, and is a local blogger I love to follow. She’s crafty, and adorable. And, her engagement photos (taken by the fabulous Lisa) are seriously wonderful.
Not only am I looking forward to seeing the couple wearing these fab pairs of TOMS, but I’m looking forward to seeing all of the photos from their wedding day. And, in case you’re wondering, this couple is the same couple from this Tuesday Shoesday post a few weeks back.
