I love baseball. L-O-V-E it. I live in the town of the best fans in baseball (don’t argue with me, because you cannot convince me otherwise). And, I also live in the town where El Hombre plays. So, of course, I love that Tony Hoffer shot a recent engagement session at a baseball stadium. By no means, is it MY baseball stadium (and by “MY” I mean my city’s baseball stadium). The couple was able to get into Citizen’s Bank Park (where the Phillies play) to get some pics. And, I have to give kudos to the Phillie’s because St. Louis’ own Ryan Howard plays for them.
At any rate – in honor of opening day at Busch Stadium in 7 days (i.e. not soon enough), here is one of my faves. Check out the Hoffer Photography blog for more!

Most nights when I’m not spending time with the Mr., I browse the web for things that inspire me. Not just wedding blogs, but anything, photography, fashion, etc. In most cases, I usually have an eye for things like a great bride and groom shot or ring shot, but this one from Hoffer Photography caught my eye.

Usually, programs feature pretty basic details, but how can you not appreciate the design used on the front of this one? It’s simple, but it plays on the use of lines, which I’m a huge fan of.
Can you say gorgeous? Especially that yummy winter light!

I’m not gonna lie. I used to wear heels all of the time. ALL of the time. I owned (and still do) a ton of high heels. I thought it was important for my internships during college, because I was a business major, to have some professional (but fun and funky) shoes. However, when I graduated college, I started a job with an international advertising agency, where the dress code was pretty casual. As in, I wore jeans and flip flops in the summer, with a cute top. In the winter I wore flats.
Enter Job #2. I started this job back in October of last year – this time at a web site development and creative agency. Again, dress code was still pretty casual, except when at client meetings. This pretty much led to a decline in my desire to wear heels. The problem? My shoes for the wedding are adorable (and hot) Kate Spades. So, I reaffirmed my love affair with heels, and actually have been wearing them a lot more often (go me). But, before I bought the Kate Spades, I seriously thought I’d be a ballet flat bride or a two shoe bride (heels for ceremony, flats for reception).
The moral? Not every bride wants to wear heels. There are plenty of ladies out there who would rather find an adorable pair of ballet flats so they are comfortable all day long. I don’t blame them at all. So, of course, I love when I find a great pair of shoes (of any kind) that I can share for inspiration. Now, if I only I could tell you who the designer is.

I arrived home late on New Year’s Even from my vacation in Florida and happened to wake up on New Year’s Day to find a dusting of snow on the ground and flakes continuing to fall. I must say, even though it was 12 degrees (brrr…), there is something very romantic about snow falling.
And, there is something even more romantic about snow falling on your wedding day.

Twinkle lights can seem so elementary when you’re thinking about design. But, if you really think about it, they can really transform a space into something magical.

Now, if you’re going to have a daytime wedding and reception, this obviously wouldn’t work as well. However, twinkle lights can really provide ambiance at night, and when in a darker reception space. Plus, they usually are not very expensive. So, don’t rule them out!
