Seriously in love with this engagement shoot by Claris Photography.
The bride and groom really wanted some specific shots and had some great ideas for their shoot, and the photographer worked with them to make their ideas come to life. The photos are quirky, fun, beautiful, and, well, hot.

If this shoot is not an incentive to be funky and creative with your engagement photos, I don’t know what else could be.
It is definitely images like this one that make me very excited that I am getting married in the Fall (and having my e-pics done in the Fall).

The colors and the light are just gorgeous.
So in love with these engagement pictures. They just tell a different story that some of the more traditional photos.
I love the laughing photo like whoa. Such a fantastic representation of the dynamic of this couple’s relationship. Beautiful!

I love when a photographer is able to capture moments like these.
When scouring the web for engagement shoot ideas, I found almost all of my favorites in an urban setting.
BUT, today I found another great idea for an engagement session spot. Your home.

Bobbi and Mike
I love the idea of shooting in your house, your home. It shows an intimate side of your relationship, the true value of it. Of course, this would really only be applicable if you two live together. Nonetheless, it’s a great spot and it’s an alternative to your traditional shoot spots!
Are booked! October 28. So very excited about it, too!
I’ve been pulling some inspiration photos, and scouring the St. Louis area for a party supply company that sells perfectly round red latex balloons. I’ll let you know how that goes…
So, yeah. Inspiration. Don’t want to give away the pictures I’ve been pulling, but we will be taking photos in two different locations in town. At our last one, I’m hoping we can get a few shots like these. Fingers crossed for wheat/wildflower and corn fields!

And, Lisa, we are both totally game for laying in the grass (or wheat/wildflower field!) or sitting in the middle of the road…If you’re feeling it.
Remember those cute knock-knock jokes when you were a kid?
Kid: ”Knock, knock.”
Patron: ”Who’s there?”
Kid: ”Orange.”
Patron: ”Orange, who?”
Kid: ”Orange you glad…..”
Yeah, okay, so they became a little annoying after a while, but I had a total flashback when I saw this:

I wish we had some place like that in town to take pictures. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fab places to take pictures here, like:

And, here:

BUT, considering the fact that orange (tangerine) is one of our faboosh wedding colors, how fun would that wall be to take pictures in front of?
Since the “Orange You Glad” wall is not an option in this lovely midwestern town, I think the FI and I are going to opt to do some fun photos a la Max Wanger (although the lovely Jessica Claire just shot some fun photos with green balloons for her birthday):

Just imagine that balloon in red. How fun is that?! I can’t help myself in wanting to use fun props during the e-shoot (not for all of the photos, just a few). Now to get our photographer on board, which I don’t think will be a problem at all!
