plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country

Although today’s couple featured on “Engagement Photo Friday” is already married – they recently went out with my fave photog to take a few anniversary shots.  And, as Lisa mentions on her blog, this was the engagement session Ashley and Robin never had.  How could I not share photos, taken in the Fall, at one of my favorite spots in St. Louis (an apple orchard).  Happy Friday!

While I start working through some of the fabulous real wedding submissions thanks to Two Bright Lights, I had to toss in a version of my own “Thursday Purseday.”  This set is brought to you straight from our wonderful wedding photographer, Lisa Hessel.  We opted to have our gals carry clutches instead of bouquets. It was a little bit more practical (like me). Plus, the flower is a brooch the girls can remove and use the clutch in its plain version (or with the flower, if they so choose).

I had the clutches made from a seller on Etsy, Babbs Boutique. And, I couldn’t recommend her more!

P dot S – Full recaps will be coming up soon, including honeymoon details. All over on Weddingbee!

In case you forgot that chill in the air is Fall knocking at your door, here’s a reminder with some gorgeous Fall bouquets. I love that the palette changes. Colors become more rich, or more saturated. In some cases they are toned down. No matter what, Fall palettes in flowers are enough to make me swoon like crazy.

What Fall colors and flowers do you most look forward to?

I happened to be a two shoe bride on my wedding day. While, I love those Kate Spades, lets face it, my feet could not handle 12 hours in heels. It was only natural to buy a red pair of TOMS to sport during the reception. And, let me tell you. TOMS are pretty much the comfiest shoes I have ever own. And, I love every single pair in my closet. Especially this red pair.

This morning’s Tuesday Shoesday features a pair of my absolute favorite shoes. Which, happen to be my very own wedding shoes, captured by the always talented, Lisa Hessel. I bought these shoes before I bought my dress, and had them in my closet for a good year before my wedding day.

From the bride, Sara:

We met at my first job out of college at Target in Valparaiso. My husband worked at Target throughout college, and I received a job offer after I graduated from IU. Per policy, we were not allowed to date. As he would say, I was his boss. After I transferred stores the following year, we began a more serious relationship.

For our wedding day, I did not have a certain theme in mind, but wanted a summery feel with all different shades of pink. Everything for the wedding I personally choose and, did not always follow what was trendy. I wanted it to represent our taste but at the same time be elegant as well.

Our entire day was memorable!! My sister helped me get ready, to my father walked me down the aisle, and when my husband and I were announced as husband and wife. Along with having all of our family and friends together at one time was irreplaceable. But my most memorable was when my husband and I were announced to walk in at the reception. The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup two days prior to our wedding, so just my husband and I walked in to Chelsey Dagger with air horns. All of our family and friends twirled rally flags which said “Congratulations Andy and Sara.” Of course, my husband did the Byfuglien infamous poise and we bumped fists with our bridal party as they were lined up. I really think everyone, Blackhawks fan or not, was on their feet cheering.
