plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country

Nothing like sun-drenched photos when there is still a chill in the air! (Granted it is now 90 degrees, but how can you not love the warmth in these photos?).

JUST in case you did not get enough of her gorgeousness, here are a few more shots from her wedding day by Lisa Hessel.

I love these shots of the bridal party!

‘Ello gorgeous!

Mmm. That light is delish!

*Zoolander reference thanks to Lisa!

Something about these are quite magical. And the combo of the man in uniform and the bride’s vintage look that makes these images feel like they are from another time. Le swoon.

These photos pretty much need no explanation.

The groom loves Batman. So why not have a little fun with it?

Weddings are about love and emotions and sharing in a wonderful experience with your family. BUT, I cannot urge you all enough to laugh. A lot. Out loud. To yourself. With friends and family. Just laugh. And soak in every ounce of your wedding day.

Amelia Lyon recently shared this wedding on her blog, and the story of the couple.  Due to the bride’s father falling ill, the couple decided to wed in 6 weeks to make sure he would be well enough for the wedding day. I couldn’t help but to well up when I saw these sweet shots.

So, this engagement session has been floating around the interweb for the past week or so. C & V from Simply Bloom Photography do so magnificent work, so I couldn’t help but immediately love this session. But, what really drew me in was not their use of large letters (see them here), but their use of bubbles. Yes, bubbles. And, not like “wedding ceremony exit” bubbles, like kids having fun bubbles.

Who said you have to go to a park to get your engagement photos taken?

Why not go somewhere fun, somewhere different, or somewhere that means something to the both of you.

I originally found this shoot over on The Unbride, and the photographer had asked the couple what they like to do. Their response? “We don’t do much, all we do is eat and do laundry.” Have fun with it people!

My fab friend and photographer, Lisa Hessel posted some seriously awesome photos from a wedding she recently shot. I cannot wait to share them all, but in the meantime, I HAD TO share these two.

Carl’s Drive-Inn is a local fave hot spot. I was surprised to hear when I found out not too many people know of this delish spot (which is totes unfortunate). It also happens to literally be down the street from where I live (I’m talking within walking distance people). If you’re look for delish diner food and awesome homemade root beer, Carl’s is THE place to go.

The bride even had these awesome aprons made for the wedding party so they could eat without making a mess. You have no idea how jealous I am of this idea right now. My mouth is watering.

Mr. A is from a semi-small town in Illinois. And, I was recently introduced to the fantastic photography of Kyle Shultz thanks to Meagan.

He recently shot a wedding where the bride and groom visited the State Fair Grounds. It’s too bad he couldn’t get the bride to go down the slides – now those would have been some photos!

P dot S How gorgeous is the bride?

Edited to add:

A big thanks to Meagan and the Pilot’s Mom for confirming that these photos were in fact taken at the State Fair Grounds!
