This is an outdoor wedding was perfect for this couple who met at prom. With a long distance relationship ending with a winter engagement, this summer wedding is full of so much love from all of their years together. Can we also take a minute to talk about the floating pom pons above the ceremony as well – this little addition to the decor is breathtaking and adds such a whimsical yet romantic feel. A gorgeous dress, stunning flowers, and an overall enchanting day!
From the Photographer
They met in high school, Michelle’s senior year and Rory’s junior year. Rory was on the cross country team with Michelle’s good friend Emily. Prom was coming up and Michelle didn’t have a date, and had her eye on Rory. So, Emily and Michelle concocted a plan, to Rory to ask her to prom. They stayed together throughout the rest of high school and during their college years, even though they attended different schools. Michelle graduated from Saginaw Valley State University on December 17th, and came to visit Rory in East Lansing afterwards where he was still attending Michigan State University. The following night he told me he wanted to take me out for a nice dinner to celebrate my graduation, and we went to a place in downtown Lansing. Afterwards, he suggested we walk over to the capitol to look at the Christmas tree, and he asked there.
Michelle’s Wedding dress was designed by Allure and the tuxes came Men’s Warehouse. The ceremony took place at Michelle’s father’s house in China, MI. Guests threw Lavendar buds and biodegradable confetti as the Bride and Groom made their exit. A lot of the details were done by the bride herself or with the help of family members. Michelle’s father built the door that they entered the ceremony threw and strung the paper balls with fishing wire. Their wedding cake was made by Debbie – a friend of the family.
