This wedding is full of so much color, without using much color at all. The bright shades of yellow have that ‘wow factor’ when placed next to the shades of ivory and grey also incorporated into this wedding. The yellow tulips of the brides bouquet to the lemons in the reception decor, this March wedding could also serve as a summer stunner! This wedding was stylish, sunny, joyful and cheerful, a perfect combination for a wedding celebration.
From The Photographer
Nikki and Donnie are the kind of couple who would make the perfect neighbors. Stylish and cheerful with the best senses of humor, and from what I hear, Donnie is one mean grilling machine. Their March 9 wedding was awash in gray and yellow details – perfect for a spring day, but also perfect for this fun-loving couple. Nikki chose gorgeous yellow tulips for her own bouquet, and used lemons in the reception centerpieces. Nikki’s Mori Lee gown, pearl studded shoes, and subtle jewelry were the perfect classic details. Donnie’s son, Jackson, was the ring-bearer in the wedding, and he delivered cards to both Nikki and Donnie the morning of the wedding.
At the reception, Nikki and Donnie made sure that their guests had lots to laugh about. During the toasts, both the groom’s best man and the bride’s brother gave toasts full of embarrassing stories – the bride and groom laughed so hard they almost cried. Later, the DJ set Nikki and Donnie back to back in chair on the dance floor and had them remove their shoes; each received one of her shoes and one of his. The DJ then asked them questions (such as, “Which of you fell for the other first?” and “Who is more responsible?”), and Nikki and Donnie answered by raising the respective shoe. Honestly, I have never laughed so hard at a wedding. This light-hearted and lovely day full of laughter and joy, in true Midwestern style.
