plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country

This style shoot submitted to us by Samantha Lafikes of WHITEHOUSE weddings + events is a pretty perfect recipe: pink, ombre, gold glitter, gold animals, gorgeous typography/paper, pretty straws, and even a surprise artichoke. See for yourself!

From the planner:

Back in March, we partnered up with some of our FAV vendors: Dreaming Tree Photography, Peacock Blooms, and Katie Kemp Design for an ombre inspired photo shoot at a gem of a space, the Jacoby Arts Center in Alton, IL. Luckily, our girl Afton has become a PRO at designing inspiration boards, and she created one as inpiration for our shoot. We are LOVING how AMAZING all of DTP’s pics turned out, the ombre flowers + stationary, the gold animals, the artichoke, swoon. love. so happy.

A little bit about the AMAZING vendors that made this shoot so beautiful:

Dreaming Tree Photography- DTP’s pictures make our hearts flutter. ALWAYS. SO. BEAUTIFUL. Amanda is one of the BEST in the photography world and we just love every time one of our brides chooses her. Not only is her photography and style amazing, so is her personality; she ADORES all of her clients and ADORES weddings and families, this is what makes her so special and makes her brides so happy!

Katie Kemp Design- We met Katie at a bridal show this January at the Chase Park Plaza where her stationary and styling was FRONT and CENTER {just where it belonged}. Katie’s design style is unique, unexpected, and PERFECTION. Her stationary design really brought this shoot to life. Katie is a TRUE artist, and I know this because all I said was “pink ombre” and she went with it and blew it out of the water! Katie and her husband’s wedding was featured in the most recent issue of St. Louis Bride, in which she did all of the stationary herself, and as you would expect..it was TO.DIE.FOR.

Peacock Blooms- Maggie at Peacock Blooms Floral Design…let’s just say we LOVE her!! When she mentioned “gold spray painted animals” in our 1st phone convo, I knew it was meant to be. And her flowers…just take a look, they speak for themselves! Her designs are absolutely gorgeous!! One of best things about Maggie is not just her talent, it is that you can just tell when you talk to her that she really wants her clients to be HAPPY and get EXACTLY what they want.

{It’s the little things..}

The fun and best thing about photo shoots {other than giggling, drinking the extra Sparkletini, and tasting the broken macaroons with my girls/partners Afton +Betsy}, is that it really gives you a chance to be creative and do whatever you want. For example, the ombre table covering…that’s Betsy’s skirt from Anthro {she ALWAYS comes up with the best ideas} I mean SO CUTE! The gold flatware: the perfect gold flatware is so hard to come by, so we went out and bought our own and spray painted it gold {loving the way it turned out}. The china + stemware is my own from Crate and Barrel. The lanterns are from Target. The tissue paper tassel is from Carmen at the Flair Exchange. Carmen is awesome. I happened to stumble upon her Etsy store and knew that I had to have this tassel for our shoot. She was so helpful and rushed the order to me, so fun + whimsical!
