Well, sometimes it’s just a bit too chilly and snowy to wear a hot pair of stilettos.  Nothing wrong with a cozy pair of Uggs!

I definitely think one the big trends for this year is alternative bouquets.  Brides and florists are getting really creative with their designs by choosing exotic flowers and fruits, or option to use fabrics or antique brooches.

A great way to cut costs, or just do something different is to incorporate fruit into your bouquet.  Not only will it give it some depth, but it will help it to be more fragrant.  And, I absolutely love the colors in this particular bouquet, featured on Design*Sponge.  It’s a great Spring or Summer bouquet, and it’s great to see some green incorporated.

Do not be afraid to get creative with your bouquet designs. Creative does not mean non-traditional. Just try something with vibrant colors, or different flowers.  And, ask for help from your florist – chances are they are more than willing to do something a little different and memorable.

Well, hello there gorgeous lakeside ceremony venue. Too bad you’re located in Pennsylvania.

Do you know of any great Midwest hidden gems perfect for a ceremony? If so, please share!

I love finding unique spots in town for wedding pictures, mostly because I’m still scoping places out to hit for my wedding in September.  I have had this particular location on lock down and tried to keep it a secret for some time.  Now, I’m quite the awesome secret keeper, if I do say so myself. BUT, I really couldn’t keep this one quiet for much longer.  Now, if I can just make sure no one will be on the ferris wheel when I need to be in September, I’d be golden.

A little background:
The City Museum is practically like this huge indoor playground for people of all ages (yes, we held sorority events here during college).  It is also a great venue for weddings (I’ll save this one for another post).  It has all of this re-purposed material used to make slides and things to climb on.  Plus, on the roof, there are more things to do, including riding the ferris wheel.

Local bride (and wedding planner), Katie, and her husband took a ride on the Ferris Wheel after their wedding.  Their photographer, Todd Studios got some awesome shots – including this one, featuring the night sky in Saint Louis.

So, for every obvious reason, I love this shot.  And, I’m very excited to ride the ferris wheel in September with the Pilot.  Lets just hope Lisa isn’t afraid of heights.

Are there any great spots in your hometown to get unique pictures? Please share them (or don’t if you’re uber protective)!

I am seriously lusting after the most recent post on photographer, Stephanie Williams‘ blog.  She recently shot a wedding in Hawaii, and the couple opted to do a day after shoot – complete with gorgeous views of the North Shore.

Mostly, I’m in love with all of the sunflower shots from this shoot.  The lighting in these images is just soft and warm and romantic.

I have a lot of favorite colors.  I’m the girl who cannot pick just one.  I have an even bigger obsession with color combos.  This is why during my own planning process I struggled with colors, from Yellow and Gray, to Red, Orange and Gray.

So, of course I love one of the new invites in Kenzie Kate’s collection:

There is something so fresh and modern about that navy blue and green together.  Yet it has somewhat of an updated traditional feel to it.

Are there any color combos that just make you swoon?
