plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country

One of my favorite colors, by far.

The Perfect Palette features fun and inspiring color palettes to help you plan your wedding (or any event for that matter).  I’ve plugged the site before in the past, so I cannot help but feature them again when I find great color combos (or just ones that I personally love).

Enter, Candy Apple Red and Snow White:

I love this combo for many reasons, but one of them is that they are GREAT winter colors without being too cliche.  The mix of red and white adds good contrast.  Now, you can overdo it with this combo, so be sure to be tasteful with your choice of elements.  Use mostly white with just hints of reds here and there.  It’s a chic way to add touches of fun and class.

  1. oo – i like this A LOT!

To answer your question from a couple of days ago: We are asking the groomsmen to buy their suits. They’re just wearing plain black ones so we were able to do this without much guilt because I sorta feel like this is a necessity in a man’s wardrobe. However, we did tell them that if they already had one, not to buy a new one and that we didn’t care what it looked like (double/single breasted, number of buttons, etc) because they’re the ones that have to keep it. Plus, if you watch the sales, you can get a very nice suit for about $250 – the amount I spent on a recent bridesmaid dress that I will never ever wear again… 🙂

My ring bearers however, are renting tuxes. Their mom called and asked if that was okay – I said it was fine even though tuxes are a little more formal than what I wanted. I mean, I totally understand that she didn’t want to buy a suit that they will grow out of in like, ten minutes. Plus, she says the tux looks sorta like a suit and I’m sure they’ll be adorable no matter what!

@Very Married Thanks for the feedback! We are having our guys buy suits (tan), but I had the idea to have the groomsmen wear vests and slacks and my fiance would wear the vest and slacks with the suit jacket. The guys don’t mind either way, I was just concerned about the dent in their wallets (although I think all guys should own at least one suit).

  3. Love, love, LOVE this!

@Miss T That’s perfectly okay to be biased – because I am too (with my red shoes, too)!

  7. I absolutely adore a great color combination! This board instantly sparked my imagination. I love the combo, its crisp and fresh! And I love that it is just hints of red, but very well thought out. Very tasteful!
