plan a modern wedding in the middle of the country

I’m starting a new “series” here on this lovely blog of mine called “Things I Love.”  These little posts consist of wedding-related things that I stumble upon that I. Just. LOVE.  I have a few more up my sleeves, but will be sharing one today that is just fun and classic at the same time.  After catching up on my Google reader last night, this little idea stuck with me all day today, that I had to write it down and bookmark it to chat with my mom about it tonight.  So enjoy!

If you know anything about me, you know how much I love Martha Stewart (see previous post regarding my new last name).  I frequently buy the Martha Stewart Living magazine and regularly purchase the Martha Stewart Weddings magazine each quarter.  How can a girl resist?!

So, to my suprise, a lovely Cheree Berry was one of Martha’s featured weddings for the Summer issue, which was exciting for a few reasons: 1.  She’s a FANTASTIC stationary designer with a great history (can you say “former art director for Kate Spade?”).  2.  She had a wonderful display of photos at the entrance of her reception (see below):

How great is that?  She used images of family members’ weddings and some of her designs and created a unique entry-way at her reception location (for you St. Louisans, she had her fabulous reception at Lumen).  It was a great surprise for her guests and a wonderful way to incorporate family.

It inspired me to contact her and see what she did and much to my surprise, she responded right away (fantastic)!  She told me that she could design them for me, or recommend her printer.  Obviously, I am Miss Crafty and would be designing them myself, but would LOVE to have her printer’s information for the future.  She willingly passed along her information, which thrilled me.

I think the printed canvas/fabric would be fantastic for the entrance to Windows.  Now the question is whether or not they will allow us to hang anything.  So now my task is trying to figure out how we can hang them.

UPDATE:

I went to bed last night and woke up this morning with a great idea.  If there are any brides-to-be, or just “regulars” out there who would love to have something like this created for yourself, whether an image or a design, send me a quick message at brit {at} landlockedbride dot com.  I would love to design something for you and/or your home!

Now all I have to do is find a home for you to help me design cool things like this.

My brother and sister in law had an outdoor wedding where they set up a walkway to get to the actual wedding spot and hung family pictures all over that as people were walking in. It was pretty great, but I also really like the idea of past wedding pics. Any excuse to remember the fun times and laugh at the old trends is great. People don’t look at wedding photos enough after the wedding… Glad you found a cool way to bring them back!
